GCI customers can reach out to their loved ones in Mexico who may be affected by Tuesday's earthquake without having to worry about extra fees.

From now until September 25, the telecommunications company is waiving all fees associated with landline or cellular calls and texts to Mexico in response to the deadly 7.1 earthquake.

“Our thoughts are with the victims of the recent deadly earthquake in Mexico,” said Paul Landes, senior vice president, Consumer Services. “Staying in touch with loved ones in the wake of tragic events such as this is important, so GCI would like to offer customers the opportunity to check in with friends and family in the area who may be affected, without concern for cost.”

GCI says customers do not need to take any action to get the free service added.
