Anchorage police say a crash that closed part of Tudor Road for hours Friday evening injured both drivers involved, with one facing charges following the wreck.

Police responded to Tudor Road and Dale Street at about 9:15 p.m., according to a statement from police spokesman MJ Thim. A 2015 Ford Mustang, driven by 21-year-old Marco Gonzalez, was headed west on Tudor when a woman in a black 2003 Ford pickup truck made a left turn from a stop sign on Dale.

“As the driver of the pickup turned onto eastbound Tudor Road, the driver of the Mustang T-boned the pickup truck on its left side,” Thim wrote. “Speed is believed to be a factor in the collision.”

Neither Gonzalez nor the woman suffered life-threatening injuries, Thim wrote, but both were hospitalized. Gonzalez was charged with reckless driving and other offenses; details on those charges weren’t immediately available in online court records Saturday night.

Police closed part of Tudor in the area during their investigation, with all lanes reopened shortly before midnight.
