Anchorage firefighters safely extinguished a burning recreational vehicle near Abbott Loop Elementary School Wednesday afternoon.

Jodie Hettrick, AFD’s operations chief, said crews were called shortly after noon to the 2600 block of Bell Circle, just south of the school off Lake Otis Parkway.

Photos of the burning vehicle, taken by Jeremy Thomas McMillan, showed most of the vehicle engulfed in flames. The RV’s structure was warped in some areas as firefighters secured the scene.
