Troopers ID body pulled from river as missing boater
The body of a person found last Tuesday afternoon near the mouth of the Kenai River has been positively identified as a Colorado man who went missing after a boating incident, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Last month, 63-year-old Phillip Keltner was reported missing after an August 4 boating accident in which he and three other people fell out of an out-of-control boat.
The others were able to swim to shore, but Keltner wasn’t found in a multi-agency search at the time.
Keltner was positively identified after an autopsy conducted by the State Medical Examiner's Office and has since been released to the family.
