Anchorage police are investigating a shots-fired call from Muldoon that became an apparent shooting Saturday afternoon, when a wounded man arrived at a local hospital soon afterward.

Police said in a statement that officers initially responded at about 1:30 p.m. to a shots-fired call on the 300 block of Standish Street, off Muldoon Road near East 6th Avenue. Witnesses spoke with police, but no victims were found.

“At 1:58 p.m. officers responded to a local hospital with reports of one adult male dropped off with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the upper body,” police wrote. “APD believes these incidents are related.”

Nothing further was initially being released on the shooting, police said, pending further investigation.
