The 14th ranked University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves returned home -- and to form.

Fueled by Leah Swiss' 17 kills and 18 assists, each from Madison Fisher and Casey Davenport, the Seawolves disposed of Chico State in four sets (25-18, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18) on day one of the D2 west region Volleyball Showcase Presented by Hilton Garden Inn.

The victory pushed UAA back over .500 at 3-2 while the visiting Wildcats dropped to 4-2. It also continued a recent trend. Last season, UAA swept Chico State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. UAA now leads the series 6-4. Chico's last win came in 1993.

But the next two days will serve as a strong test for UAA as three ranked teams remain on the schedule: California Baptist (24th), Concordia University Irvine (15th) and Cal State San Bernardino (11th) all await the tournament host.
