Change in the air for Kenai Central
Kenai Central High School is thinking of moving -- some of their teams that is.
The athletic department is considering repositioning two of its teams from the 4A level to 3A in basketball and volleyball.
It's about matching up with similarly sized schools to provide more a competitive balance.
"We've been the smallest 4A school in the state for several years, and for the last couple of years, we've been at 3A numbers, so, it just gives our kids a chance to compete at the level we're actually at." said athletic director Chris Hanson.
The Kardinals are looking to do this next year but will need approval from the Alaska School Activities Association.
