FedEx and UPS are having their annual competition to benefit United Way of Anchorage. Although this event is traditionally a hockey game, this time they will be playing softball.

The event usually takes in tens of thousands of dollars worth of sponsorship money to benefit United Way.

Although the competition is heated and tense between the rival delivery chains, they agree that the real winner, in the end, is the community.

The first games will be between FedEx hourly employees and their management, while adjacently UPS will have a game between their hourly employees and management. The winners of these games will play the final championship game, happening the same day. The games kick off this Sunday, September 10, at Cartee Field starting at 2. There will be tickets available at the gate and refreshments, such as a barbecue.
