DNCE pops into Anchorage children's hospital for surprise visit
Kids at the Children's Hospital at Providence got a huge surprise when the members of the hit band DNCE paid them a visit early Monday afternoon.
Cat Okegawa has a son who was at the hospital when the band, known for its hit song "Cake by the Ocean," stopped by. She confirmed the news to KTVA Tuesday evening.
DNCE performed at the Alaska State Fair at 3 p.m., but they still made time to visit the kiddos who couldn't make it to the concert.
Okegawa said they stopped by the hospital just before noon to visit all of the kids. She said it was an unexpected and memorable experience.
"It was a quick visit," she said. "They visited rooms, the activity room where we were and the staff took a pic with them too."
Her son Mekai was one of the lucky ones who got more than a photo with the group.
"Cole, the one with the Mohawk, gave Mekai one of his rings," she said.
DNCE wasn't alone. Okegawa said the lead singer's girlfriend was in attendance too. The Lady of Winterfell herself, Sophie Turner.
"Sansa Stark, Sophie Turner, from Game of Thrones was also at the hospital," she said. "She's Joe Jonas' girlfriend."
KTVA received several tips over the weekend of people spotting the couple dining at Simon and Seaforts on Sunday night and enjoying funnel cakes at the Fair on Monday.
On each of their Instagram accounts, they confirmed "winter is coming" by posting photos of their stop at Knik Glacier.
