An Anchorage woman died in a Parks Highway crash near Nenana late Tuesday, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Word of the wreck that killed 25-year-old Charlene Peterson near Mile 325 of the Parks came in at about 11:15 p.m., troopers wrote in an online dispatch.

“Investigation revealed [Peterson was] driving a 2005 Toyota truck (that) was southbound on the Parks Highway when her vehicle left the roadway and overturned,” troopers wrote. “Charlene was pronounced deceased on scene.”

Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said the truck had left the highway on a "shallow left curve." It wasn't clear when the wreck occurred, but investigators are hoping to learn that from a planned autopsy of Peterson's body at the state medical examiner's office.

Peterson’s next of kin have been notified.

On Wednesday afternoon troopers said another Anchorage woman, 32-year-old Amanda Fleming, had died in a crash on the Parks near Cantwell a few hours before Peterson.
