Goodbye Aces, hello "Wild Blueberries"? That is one of five choices the new owners may call their team next season in Portland, Maine.

The Alaska Aces moved there shortly after they folded operations after the season ended in April.

The fruit nickname is being considered because management said Maine accounts for 10 percent of all blueberries grown in North America and Coastal Maine boasts the largest production of blueberries.

Other choices being considered are the Mariners, Watchmen, Lumberjacks and Puffins.

Fans can vote for their favorite choice at the Portland Maine Hockey website. The team will begin play at Cross Insurance Arena during the 2018 to 2019 ECHL season.
