Anchorage singer/songwriter Derek Dean made his Daybreak debut Friday, performing songs from his unreleased EP.

Dean has been writing ’90s alternative rock-inspired songs for more than a decade. He made his way into the Anchorage music scene as lead singer/songwriter and guitarist for the band Easyhead. In August 2012, his song “Phobia” was named Indie Rock Song of the Year at the Alaska Song of the Year competition. Right now Dean co-fronts the local rock band, The Moonracers.

“My Little Monster,” Dean’s latest EP and solo project, is set for digital release Dec. 1.

You can find Dean on Facebook and YouTube. All of his music is available for download and purchase on iTunes and Spotify.
