He’s a DJ in California, but his roots are right here in Alaska. Juneau native, Marlon Lumba, also known as Astronomar, has worked with many big name artists. This Fourth of July weekend he’ll be opening for Grammy-award winning artist Diplo at the dance music festival Diplaska in Anchorage.

Lumba joined Daybreak for a Mic Check in the Morning, where he talked about his journey from Juneau to sharing the stage with some of the best DJs in the world.

“Been pretty wild, like I never thought I would be living in LA working as a DJ traveling the world,” he said. “I just got back from Japan two weeks ago on a tour right there. Pretty wild.”
