The Norris Bowers Band describes themselves as “High-octane old-time music with a bluegrasser’s sense for drama and harmony.” Originally from Fairbanks, the group is the combination of the Norris and Bowers families, two well-known families in the Alaska bluegrass scene.

The band is on a whirlwind November tour, stretching from Fairbanks to Homer, and joined us early in the morning to play a few songs. Catch them Friday evening at the Taproot and Saturday night at Kharacters Alaskan Bar in Homer.

The Norris Bowers Band’s album, Gin Chicken, is available now.
