Alaskan singer-songwriter Jamie Whiteman played on Daybreak’s Mic Check in the Morning on Dec. 23 with her twist on americana-folk. Her accompaniment was Harrison Jennings on mandolin and fiddle. If Whiteman looks familiar, it’s because she plays in another band, the Tanana Rafters from Anchorage.

The Tanana Rafters is a “bluesy folk-rock” band, according to their website. They formed in November 2013, and since then have been playing all over the state at bars, cafes and outside stages. Their newest album came out earlier this year and is available now.
