Anchorage police arrested an armed male juvenile in a standoff Sunday evening, following gunfire inside an Abbott Loop home.

Word from police of the incident, on the 7800 block of Moose Run Circle, first came in shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday. Police had asked people to avoid the area.

Police spokesman MJ Thim said officers responding to the area found the suspect, who had outstanding warrants. He then ran into another home about a block away, where he fired a weapon.

Members of APD’s SWAT team took him into custody without incident a few hours later, ending the standoff by 10:15 p.m. Nobody was injured.
