Two men have been charged for a fire that on a playground Monday that caused thousands of dollars in damage.


According to APD, the two 18-year-olds were at the Bowman Elementary School playground burning a love letter from an ex-girlfriend. After lighting the paper on fire, they left the playground with the fire still burning.


Robert Charles Yaskell and Riley Dean Borello-Poythress were each charged with criminal mischief, criminally negligent burning, and failure to control or report a fire.


According to the Anchorage School District, the playground fire caused thousands of dollars’ worth of damage.
