Anchorage police released a statement early Thursday morning that 12-year-old Tia Lowdermilk has been located and is safe.

Police were looking for her when she was reported missing after being last seen leaving her West Anchorage home Wednesday evening.

The Anchorage Police Department’s original release said she left home around 5:30 p.m. and might have been traveling on her longboard. They said there was concern for her wellbeing.
