ANCHORAGE — A detached trailer in midtown Anchorage was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene Tuesday night.

The fire, which was visible for several blocks, was reported at 9:09 p.m., according to a statement from the Anchorage Fire Department. A dozen units responded to the fire on the 2600 block of A Street, behind O’Reilly’s Auto Parts on Northern Lights Boulevard.

“First AFD units arrived on location within four minutes and reported finding a detached trailer with boarded windows and smoke showing,” fire officials wrote. “Heavy fire conditions were reported upon entry into the trailer by fire crews.”

Less than 20 minutes later, however, the fire was declared under control.

Fire officials said no one was in the trailer at the time of the fire, and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A Street between Fireweed Lane and Northern Lights Boulevard was briefly closed while firefighting efforts were underway.

Correction: An earlier version of this report stated the trailer was abandoned. This has been corrected.
