The Anchorage Fire Department (AFD) responded to a house fire in the Abbott Loop area Wednesday morning.
The only occupant of the home at the time of the fire escaped without injury before calling AFD, according to fire Chief Dennis LeBlanc.
The woman reported to emergency responders that there were three dogs in the garage, but LeBlanc said their status is unknown.
Crews were called to the home — located at 3841 E. 86th Ave., near 88th Avenue and Elmore Road — at around 10:15 a.m., according to LeBlanc. He said the fire started in the garage and spread to a large portion of the house.
Significant damage to the garage and second floor is visible from the outside.
Thirteen units responded, according to LeBlanc, and quickly put out the fire.
