Police in Anchorage announced early Tuesday morning that 14-year-old Mary Rotzler was located by the Alaska State Troopers in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and is safe.

The East High School freshman ran away from home on Nov. 1. Her mother told KTVA that Rotzler has a drug and alcohol addiction and was about to begin treatment — part of the reason her daughter ran away.

The Anchorage Police Department previously said Rotzler likely stole a gold 2002 Ford Explorer, which was later located in Anchorage, according to Tuesday’s release from police.

“We appreciate all of the public’s help in locating our missing residents,” police wrote.
