Both lanes of the Seward Highway near mile 88.5 were closed Friday evening for three hours after a vehicle smashed into a pickup truck pulling a trailer.

According to Trooper Dispatch, 25-year-old Keegan Castle of Eagle River was traveling northbound on the Seward Highway in a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder when it crossed over the double center line into oncoming traffic. That was when the Pathfinder struck the left side of 50-year-old Mark Turton’s RAM pickup and trailer. Both vehicles came to rest in the middle of the road, blocking both lanes of the highway.

Castle and his two passengers were transported to Providence Hospital with minor injuries, Troopers say.
