Halibut fishing has been good in the North Gulf Coast.

Large halibut have been reported from the Chiswell Islands or outer Prince William Sound. Halibut should be starting to move in closer following the salmon.

Wasilla Creek and Cottonwood Creek are weekend-only fisheries, from 6 a.m. through 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Check ADF&G for details.

Kenai

Sockeye salmon are moving into the Kenai River and fishing should be fair to good for the remainder of the season. The Kenai River water level and discharge is above average.

Russian River sockeye salmon fishing is slow but will improve as more late-run sockeye salmon migrate to this area near the end of the month.
