Eielson Air Force Base went into lock down Friday morning after an airman acted out.

A base spokesperson says the active duty Airman was behaving erratically and there were concerns over potential violence. Two personal weapons and ammunition found in the trunk of his vehicle — all of which were safely locked and in cases.

For the safety of staff and residents, the base locked down at 8:45 a.m. Security forces detained the Airman and confiscated his weapons.

No one was hurt during the incident.

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations is looking into the incident.
