ANCHORAGE – The man killed in a Sunday morning shooting at an East Anchorage home has been identified, authorities say.


Around 2 a.m. Sunday, the Anchorage Police Department received a call reporting shots fired in the area of Fifth Avenue and Lane Street. When officers responded to the scene, they found a male who had been shot at a Lane Street residence, according to an APD release. Monday, police identified the victim as 19-year-old Byzantium Hill.


Hill was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased, APD says. His next of kin has been notified.


No arrests in connection with the shooting had been made as of late Monday morning.


Hill’s death is being investigated as a homicide. Anchorage police ask anyone with information to contact them.
