State officials revealed an update Monday on this summer’s homicide at the Alano Club in Spenard.

A release from the state Department of Law said the Anchorage Police Department has referred a juvenile to the Alaska Division of Juvenile Justice for delinquency proceedings in connection with the July 18 shooting death of 18-year-old Alex Yu.

District Attorney Clint Campion said he could not go into specifics about the proceedings. The release did not indicate if the unnamed teen is the suspected shooter or played another role in Yu’s death.

“Juvenile delinquency records are confidential under Alaska Statute and may not be released to the public unless authorized by a court order,” a release from the DOL says.

The Alano Club hosts sober dance events. More than 100 people were estimated to be at the Spenard club when the shooting happened, officials said back in July.
