Get Out: H2Oasis
Our weather has been very up and down this winter.
When the weather is down and there isn’t much to do outside, there is still a lot to do inside in Anchorage.
Last week I took you to the Fox Hollow Golf Dome and this week I’m taking part in another indoor adventure.
It’s been colder over the past few weeks, and that had me in search of a tropical oasis.
That oasis would be H2Oasis, Alaska’s largest water park and one of the largest indoor parks in the United States. It has many different options to have fun in the water, but there is one attraction that stands out above the rest.
“The Master Blaster. Well, it’s fast and the drop they have is lots of fun”, said water slide experts Mia and Kayla.
The Master Blaster is a 505-foot water coaster. It not only sends you down, it also sends you up.
Along with the Master Blaster, the park has a wave pool with three to four-foot waves and a 575-foot lazy river. The park’s other big slide is the orange slide, coming in at 368 feet.
If speed and thrills aren’t your cup of tea, H2Oasis offers classes and programs for adults during the week.
“We have river walk, which is an exercise program. It’s actually quite popular,” said H2Oasis co-owner Dennis Prendeville. “It’s been going for years.”
The park also offers exercise therapy, parent and toddler sessions and the popular water aerobics.
So if you are looking for a little escape from the winter blues, H2Oasis might just be what the doctor ordered.
