The Alaska Native Charter School celebrated culture week. It was a chance for some hands-on experience, reinforcing all of the things they studied during the year.

Students worked with various artists from the community. Among many things, they gathered birch from trees to make baskets, learned about traditional foods and learned about the art of beading. In this web extra, beading teacher Tatiana Petticrew talks a headdress she made.
