This week on Frontiers, we explore the vast last landscape of renewable energy in Alaska, perhaps one of the state’s most exciting new frontiers.

Bernie Karl, who runs a family-owned resort at Chena Hot Springs near Fairbanks, has been one of the pioneers in developing geothermal energy and recycling products.

In this Web Extra, Karl talks about his experimental gardens, as well as the untapped potential in Alaska for geothermal power and other forms of renewable energy. Go here to view a photo gallery of past renewable energy fairs at Chena Hot Springs.
