Update: Anchorage man arrested for killing his 92-year-old wife

The Anchorage Police Department has arrested 91-year-old Duane Marvin and charged him with killing his wife, 92-year-old Charlotte Marvin.
Police allege that after shooting his wife, Marvin hid the gun in a cabinet inside the home before telling a neighbor that his wife was dead.
Duane Marvin turned himself in to police Monday around 5 p.m. He was arrested and charged with murder in the first- and second-degree, as well as tampering with evidence.
Charlotte Marvin was found dead in their home Sunday afternoon.
APD said a motive was not yet known.

The Anchorage Police Department (APD) is investigating the death of an elderly woman at a Midtown residence as a homicide.
In a release sent early Sunday evening, police said the unnamed woman “was found deceased at a residence on the 1000 block of E. 28th Ave.”
Someone called 911 around 1:18 p.m. Sunday to report the death.
“We are convinced it’s a homicide,” APD Sgt. Slav Markiewicz said at the scene.
He said the woman’s spouse asked neighbors to call police.
Police are still conducting interviews, but do not believe there are any outstanding suspects, said Markiewicz.
