ANCHORAGE – State transportation officials are warning drivers to beware of slick road conditions across Alaska.

Sunday morning, the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities posted several warnings to its public information website, Alaska 511, urging drivers to use caution on roads ranging from the Kenai Peninsula to the northern parts of the state. On the Dalton Highway, the site indicates blowing snow and poor visibility created hazardous driving conditions. Transportation officials advise drivers to avoid the highway if possible.

In Anchorage, police dispatchers said drivers continue to experience problems along the Glenn Highway, and state transportation officials urge drivers to use caution on major roads around the municipality.
