Sometimes weather delivers mixed messages. The warmth of spring means flowers are blooming and our lawns are visible again. The snow tires can come off. Folks head back outside, and summer vacation is around the corner.

As hockey fans, we equate the sport on ice with winter, but if your team is playing this time of year, it’s a good sign. Hockey teams that are already on the golf course are done for the season. Those that are playing are still going for something: a title. It means they’re in the playoffs.

The Aces are not, and in fact, won’t be again. KTVA’s Dave Goldman offers some perspective. We miss them now, and when the cold wind comes back, it will feel even colder. Watch the video for the full commentary.
