ANCHORAGE – A Wasilla man will see his art on Hard Rock Cafe t-shirts and pins. The work from Stefan Wilson will also become a Hard Rock collector’s item.

“That’s awesome. I think that’s wonderful,” Wilson said about winning the Calling All Artists contest. Hard Rock Cafe Anchorage will host a grand opening next spring.

Hard Rock officials said the international corporation was looking for a design that captured the spirit of both the Hard Rock and the Last Frontier. Hard Rock employees from all over the country selected Wilson’s work for Alaska’s first Hard Rock location.

They said they chose Wilson’s design because of its edgy, original musical influences. The design features moose antlers, guitars and an image of Anchorage.

Wilson said his wife encouraged him to enter the contest. He had two designs, he said, but preferred the design he didn’t submit. He ended up submitting the one selected because his friends and family liked it the best.

Hard Rock said fans from all over the world have collected Hard Rock merchandise for more than 40 years. Wilson’s art will be a limited-edition run offered only at the Hard Rock Cafe Anchorage to celebrate the 2014 grand opening.
