ANCHORAGE – Featuring everything from live performances to music workshops, the annual Anchorage Folk Festival is back in town.

The festival — which bills itself as “the best free music event Alaska has to offer” — began Jan. 16 and runs through Jan. 26. While it’s primarily based at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium at the University of Alaska Anchorage, it includes a variety of other venues around Anchorage, from school performances to late-night jam sessions at local restaurants.
