Finding great careers in Alaska, for Alaskans. This week on Workforce Wednesday, Daybreak introduced a woman who can help your kid get an early jump on a high-paying dream job.

Martha Peck is the “Career Coordinator” at the Alaska Process Industry Career Consortium. You can often find her in a school informing students of different job opportunities in the state, as well as where they can further their education and find internships. Regardless of which career your child is considering, Peck offered some advice to follow right now.

“Employers, prospective employers, will be looking at their social media to make sure that they are giving good character, you know, examples of their character,” Peck said. “So be careful about that. And other things that they can watch is DUI’s — even one DUI can keep you out of a very high-paying career in Alaska.”

If you want Peck to stop by your kid’s classroom or would like to pick her brain one-on-one, you can contact her at 907-770-5250.
