ANCHORAGE – Alaskans with a bit of business savvy can score big on spring airfare, said travel guru Scott McMurren.


“It’s called competition,” said McMurren, who explained that an increase in carrier options often translates to a decrease in ticket prices.


McMurren said the rule holds true for both domestic and international destinations, but Alaskans can find particularly sweet deals around hubs like Seattle and Los Angeles.


“Just look at where those competitive fares are going and you can tell where those low fares are going to be,” he said.
