Alaska family travel expert releases new book
“Alaska On the Go: Exploring the Alaska Marine Highway System with Children” will soon be available for pre-order.
The book was written by Erin Kirkland, creator of the Alaska family travel website, AKontheGo.com.
Her first book, “Alaska on the Go: Exploring the 49th State with Children” was published in 2014 and has already be reprinted once, having proven itself as a popular resource for families. It is an overall guide to traveling just about anywhere in Alaska with kids.
Kirkland’s second offering will focus specifically on the Alaska Marine Highway System.
“For me, the Alaska Marine Highway System ferries are a touchstone of our state’s coastal culture and history,” explained Kirkland. “The system is 3,500 miles long in its entirety, and no matter which route someone chooses, he or she will be in a completely different community of Alaska, with unique opportunities to experience and different things to see.”
She says that uniqueness is invaluable for children to be part of.
The book will be available for pre-order in next few weeks via AKontheGO.com/book. A limited number will be with Kirkland at the Alaska Travelgram Summer Showcase on March 25 at the Alaska Native Heritage Center.
