Alaskans who want to get a jump start on the summer travel season can expect some great deals and prizes at the fourth Alaska Summer Showcase. Prizes include a trip for two on Alaska Airlines’ new partner Condor Air, a bear viewing trip with the Brooks Lodge in Katmai National Park, the 26 Glacier Cruise in the Prince William Sound and more. Those prizes total more than $20,000, according to the website.


The event is more than just prizes and deals. There will be food trucks and live music from Todd Grebe & Cold Country. Kids are welcome, as well. Event organizer Scott McMurren said Erin Kirkland, from the kid friendly travel blog AKontheGo, will be there to keep them engaged. Kids get in free, McMurren added.


Tickets can be purchased at and are $7.99 in advance, $12 at the door. It will be at the Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage on March 25, and go from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
