An Anchorage bagel restaurant was burglarized early Monday morning.

Anchorage police spokeswoman Renee Oistad said officers responded to The Bagel Factory restaurant, located on West 34th Avenue, shortly after 5 a.m. after receiving reports that the front glass door of the restaurant had been smashed in.

An employee confirmed that a suspect was able to steal an undisclosed amount of cash from a back office in the building.

The employee said it’s the second time the restaurant has been burglarized in the past six months.

Oistad said further information about the break-in was not immediately available from investigators.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact Anchorage police at 907-786-8900.
