Anchorage police say a collision that injured three people Saturday evening, one of them severely, has slowed traffic on Gambell and Ingra streets near Fireweed Lane in Midtown.

A police notification of the crash, at Ingra and Fireweed, was issued just before 6:15 p.m.

Officers at the scene said the single-vehicle crash occurred when the SUV, which had been southbound on Gambell, crossed the median into Ingra’s northbound lanes north of Fireweed then rolled over, coming to rest on its wheels.

A female occupant of the SUV was ejected and suffered life-threatening injuries, police said. She and two other people with non-life-threatening injuries, a male and a female, were taken to a hospital.

The wreck closed Ingra’s northbound lanes at Fireweed, police said in messages, as well as two lanes of Gambell southbound at the nearby Kendall Ford dealership. Officers at the crash site said an accident investigation team was en route.
