Eric Coonradt struck out eight to lead Sitka to 4-3 win over the Service Cougars in day one of the ASAA Baseball Championship at Mulcahy Stadium.

Emmitt Anderson’s run-scoring single in the third proved to be the difference. Ronan Klancher drove in two for the Cougars who finished the season at 7-4.

Sitka will face Wasilla which shut down West Valley.

On the other side of the bracket, Lathrop and South advanced and will also meet on Friday.
