Digital Content Manager
Hey, friends! I’m Liz Thomas, digital content manager for KTVA.com. I’ve always considered myself to be adventurous, so when the opportunity arose to come work in Anchorage, I made the leap.
I began my career in local news as a community web producer for KLTV in Tyler, Texas, where I grew up. A few short months later, I was promoted to digital director, where I led a great group of news junkies covering the issues that mattered most to East Texans on KLTV.com.
Two years later, I decided it was time to spread my wings and fly away from my home town. After exploring several opportunities across the country, I chose a job as a digital content producer for WCNC in Charlotte, North Carolina. There, I gained invaluable experience by being in such a large market and working with a large team. I also was able to broaden my writing skills in Charlotte by covering music festivals and interviewing bands as a contributor for CLTure, a regional entertainment website. On the side, I also taught aspiring minds the ropes of digital news as an instructor at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
After four-and-a-half amazing years in the Queen City, it was time for my next adventure, and Anchorage came calling. I joined the KTVA news team in early April of 2017. I am so excited to be here and am constantly blown away at just how majestic and breathtakingly beautiful the 49th State is.
I have a zest for life, music, news and football (go Cowboys!)—and I’d love to hear from you and learn more about the fun things to do in Anchorage! Tweet me at @missliz34 or shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
