State officials say four people were injured and four others had to be evacuated
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – More than 30 private homes were damaged in the Fairbanks area during a November storm.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports (http://bit.ly/K7RjR5) the damage came during the storm and in its aftermath. The state Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management released its report Friday of the storms that stretched from Alaska’s West Coast to the Interior and included flooding on the Kenai Peninsula.
Most of the damage in the Fairbanks area was caused by power outages. That storm came from the same weather system that caused the damage to communities on the western coast.
State officials say four people were injured and four others had to be evacuated. All of those people were on the Bering Sea coast.
