Celebrate hockey history with the Alaska Aces
ANCHORAGE – The most popular trophy in hockey made the rounds in Anchorage Friday as part of the ECHL Hockey Heritage Weekend.
“It doesn’t happen often,” said George Sandoval, vice president of sales and marketing for the Alaska Aces.
“It’s been 10 years since the Stanley Cup has been in town so this is a momentous event,” Sandoval said.
Heritage weekend events include evening matches against Stockton Friday and Saturday, hockey hall of fame exhibits and a special jersey retirement ceremony for former Aces sniper Wes Goldie.
