A four-point lead in the second period proves too much for Eagles
ANCHORAGE – Heading in to the second period of Thursday’s hockey match, the South Anchorage High School Wolverines were one goal ahead of the West High School Eagles thanks to an unassisted score in the first by Josh Smith.
As the second period wore on, the Wolverines started to heat up with three goals in a little over four minutes.
South’s Cameron Klatt, Daniel Widmar and Max Osborne were each credited with the three quick goals in the second. Soon after, it was 4-0 Wolverines until West’s Ilya Turchaninov got the puck past Davis Kitagawa to make it 4-1.
In the third, South got a penalty which allowed West to score late for a 5-3 final score.
