Soldier’s death marks fourth JBER fatality in a month

Four JBER soldiers have died in February.

ANCHORAGE – An investigation is underway into the death of yet another Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson soldier.

Samuel Davis, 33, was found dead in his Eagle River home this past Sunday. According to U.S. Air Force and Army officials, Davis is the fourth JBER soldier to die just this month.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Darian Miller died on Feb. 18 at 38 years old. No details surrounding his death have been released.

Air Force Senior Airman Katrina M. Jackson died on Feb. 15 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She was 22 years old.

And 24-year-old Army Sgt. Okan Cetinbag died on Feb. 11 from injuries he sustained at his home, according to Army officials.

Military officials charged with investigating these deaths say they are fully committed to getting to the truth of what led to these deaths. To avoid compromising the investigation into these deaths, they said, they will not be releasing any more information.
