Sens. Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski give their thoughts on Obama's speech
ANCHORAGE – President Obama painted an optimistic picture of the current state of our country Tuesday night.
In his State of the Union speech, Obama touted shrinking unemployment rates, a lower deficit and the most oil produced here at home in 20 years.
The president also laid out his plan for helping out Americans who haven’t benefited from the recovering economy.
He called Congress to action, saying he needs their cooperation to help his plans become law.
So how does the president’s speech impact Alaskans? We have responses from both sides of the aisle.
Alaska Democratic Sen. Mark Begich and Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski took our questions on their thoughts about the president’s speech.
