Seawolves sign JUCO spiker

ANCHORAGE –

The University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves volleyball team added a junior college transfer to the 2014 recruiting class.

Rachel Rutherford comes to Anchorage from Arizona Western College in Yuma where she played two seasons and averaged 2.3 digs per set.

Rutherford is the third member of the 2014 recruiting class and will be eligible to play this fall.

The Seawolf spikers start their season with the Spring Hill Suites Invitational, breaking in the new Alaska Airlines Center.

That tournament runs Sept. 5 -6.
