Seawolves claim victory over Nanooks

The team heads to Michigan for the WCHA Final Five next week.

FAIRBANKS – Game three of the WCHA playoffs between the UAA Seawolves and the UAF Nanooks came to a wild finish Saturday with a 5-4 win for the Anchorage team.

“It was ultimately a game seven, and to win a game seven 5-4 and get it from an Alaskan boy in the Alaskan rivalry, pretty special goal for our entire program,” said Matt Thomas, head coach of the UAA hockey program.

The team heads to Michigan for the WCHA Final Five next week.

“We have a lot of commitment from the guys that were wearing those jerseys,” Thomas said. “I couldn’t be more proud of the group.”
