Seawolf Alumni exhibition Friday at Alaska Airlines Center

The Anchorage community and UAA Volleyball fans have a chance to check out the brand-new Alaska Airlines Center and get a sneak preview of their team on Friday, Aug. 29, when the Seawolves host a 7 p.m. exhibition match against the Seawolf Alumni squad.

Picked to finish second in the 2014 Great Northwest Athletic Conference preseason coaches’ poll, UAA posted a 21-10 overall record and went 15-3 in the GNAC to finish runner-up by just one match in 2013. Coming off the program’s fourth NCAA Tournament playoff appearance in the last five years, the Seawolves will feature returning junior All-American outside hitter Katelynn Zanders (South Anchorage HS), All-GNAC junior right-side hitter Julia Mackey (Fairbanks/West Valley HS) and reigning GNAC Newcomer-of-the-Year Quinn Barker (Mission Viejo, Calif.) among their 10 returning players.

Admission to Friday’s Alumni match is free and concessions will be available for sale.
